FAQ

About MLT™: Frequently Asked Questions -

Q: What is Manual Ligament Therapy or MLT™?

A: Manual Ligament Therapy (MLT™) is a cutting-edge, trademarked therapy with a patent pending, in which the sensory qualities of ligaments are manipulated to correct muscular imbalance and dysfunction.

Q: What makes MLT™ different or more effective than other techniques?
A: Research studies at Universities at the International level have revealed that ligaments are a significant source of acute, sub-acute, and chronic muscle pain and dysfunction. MLT™ is the only known technique that addresses this fact, while other therapies normally just approach the muscles and tendons. With this advantage, MLT™ is able to resolve both simple and difficult injuries and pathologies quickly, and with little or no discomfort to the recipient. MLT™ can also be performed with clients fully clothed if modesty is an issue.

Q: Is it hard on the practitioner’s body to perform MLT™?
A: No. MLT™ requires very little effort on the clinician’s part. The use of a light touch to treat the ligaments and the proper positioning of the recipient is all that is needed. In fact, the clinician will be able to perform an increased number of treatments, and do so in a manner that supports their longevity.

Q: Do you need a special background to learn MLT™?
A: Anyone with a background in bodywork can perform MLT™. A thorough review of relevant anatomy is done so that all students are on the same level regardless of educational background or experience. To maintain a high standard for this work, clinicians will be required through a practical test to demonstrate a working knowledge of MLT™. Mentorship will be available for those who require extra help in demonstrating proficiency.

Q:  How much will it cost to become fully certified in MLT™?
A: There are five modules. The cost of each module is $120, for a total certification cost of $600. After full certification, the clinician will be granted a masters in MLT™ or “MMLT”.

Q: How long before a clinician can implement MLT™ into their practice?
A: Immediately! In fact, to ensure retention we recommend clinicians implement MLT™ as soon as their next treatment session.

Q: Is MLT™ an add-on service, a stand-alone, or something integrated into other modalitites?
A: Actually, it can be any of the above. MLT™ is easily integrated into any modality, including Swedish Massage, to achieve better joint alignment and a deeper, fuller release.

Q: Would MLT™ be part of a series of treatments or a treatment plan?
A: MLT™ is a treatment itself. The pathology will determine the course of action needed to assist the client with their return to optimal health. In the case of an injury or pathology, MLT™ should be applied in a series to promote rapid recovery.
